About Us

Over twenty years of music!

The Choral Society had its first rehearsal at Summerhill School, Kingswinford, in September 1994 and we’ve been making music together ever since. We started out as a school-based choir. Today anyone with a love of singing is welcome, but our ethos remains the same; delivering high-quality choral singing.

Our musical director is the fabulous Mr Andrew Biggs, who has instilled a love of singing in hundreds of choristers over the years as they’ve passed through the choir. We perform both sacred and secular music, from choral evensongs to fully-costumed theatrical performances and everything in between.

Over the years, the choir have sung in some fantastic locations around the UK and beyond. We’ve sung in both Birmingham Cathedrals, Chester Cathedral, the Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall and more. Abroad, we’ve toured various parts of Europe including Germany, the Czech Republic, France and Austria, singing in venues including Salzberg Cathedral, the Passion Play theatre in Oberammagau and even Disneyland Paris. We’ve also featured on various occasions on local and national radio, and on TV including in various Songs of Praise broadcasts.

We rehearse on alternate Wednesday evenings at St Andrew’s United Reformed Church in Wall Heath. If you’re interested in joining the choir, get in touch with us via our Facebook page or email our musical director Andrew Biggs by clicking here. You’ll also find us on Instagram @kingswinfordchoral.
